Looking for an easy appetizer? These sausage balls are quick to prepare, easy to store and easy to reheat!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork sausage

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 cup almond flour

  • 8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 2 oz provolone cheese, shredded

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together egg, baking powder and salt.
  • Add in sausage, almond flour and cheese.
  • Mix together well.
  • Make into 1 inch balls and place on cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 20 minutes and broil for a few minutes if they aren't golden brown.

Notes

  • Some of the cheese will cook around the ball. Allow the balls to cool and pull that cheese from the edges of the balls.
  • Yields 24 balls – 165 calories, 13.5g fat, 9.7g protein, 1.5g carbohydrate, .5g dietary fiber, 309mg sodium, .3g sugars
