Achieving weight loss goals feels incredible! There is nothing like seeing and feeling the unquestionable results of hard work. Now, if only people could maintain that accomplishment.
Sometimes, the challenges of maintaining weight loss goals boil down to simple changes such as finding time for yourself. Get out and exercise, listen to music, hang out with friends, etc. Don’t let the stress of an office stop you from being who you are and doing what you love. Don’t let not taking your vitamins lead you to deficiencies and being required to have iron infusions.
Temptations
Avoid these temptations.
Eating Out
Restaurants are notorious for sneaking in unhealthy ingredients. Some people think the only way to remain truly healthy is to avoid eating out at most restaurants. The truth is, that with a bit of research and smart thinking, you can enjoy most restaurants, from fast food joints up to four-star establishments, while still maintaining a balanced diet.
Regain
Weight regain can occur as early as within a year of surgery, and it’s not uncommon for patients to regain some weight, especially in the first few years after surgery.
Some studies show that patients regain a median of 26.8% of maximum weight loss at 5 years after surgery.
Weight regain after bariatric surgery is a common concern, with many patients experiencing some weight regain. However, it’s not inevitable. It can be managed with a disciplinary approach and lifestyle modifications such as using a team of dietitians, therapists, and other specialists who can help address weight gain. Lifestyle modifications, dietary changes, physical activity, some medications, and even revision surgery may be necessary to address weight regain. You can curb emotional eating and regain control.
